...For Drag Racers

Day Of The Drags

Day Of The Drags Victoria! - Go to the events page for more info.

Drag racing for drag racers. Day Of The Drags aims to promote, support, and celebrate the early years of Australian drag racing for the benefit of drag racers, their families, and the sport.

Day Of The Drags is primarily focused on hot rods and custom/classic era cars, with the intent to offer a simple day of drag racing for rodders and their families, in a safe and controlled format, with the opportunity for a relaxed atmosphere, where racers can experiment and practice drag racing without having to either rush or hustle, and can race anyone they choose at their discretion.

Currently we have 2 core events, these being 'Day of the Drags'(focused on the Hot Rods and Kustom/Classics, HA/GR and early style race cars), and 'Judgement Day' (focused on American and Australian origin Muscle/Chrome Bumper style cars), with a cross-over blend of each welcome at all events.

What Do We Do?

Race Format: Informal racing, with a round of dial your own eliminations after lunch, winner is the last one standing. Typically, grudge racing continues throughout the day. Where appropriate, we bunch the faster cars together in the interest of safety eg Doorslammers or similar.

In principal, we only offer minimal trophies, these being: Best Reaction Time: The first driver to score the closest to a perfect light from the start of grudge racing through to the lunch break will receive a sponsored trophy.

Dial your Own Elimination (King of the Hill*): We run a knockout class where entrants nominate their times, and whoever is closest over their opposing entrant proceeds to the next round, until there is only one winner, last one standing wins.
